Summary
2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for APM recognizes Cisco AppDynamics for our ability to execute and completeness of vision.

Thanks to you, our amazing employees, customers and partners, we’ve done it again.

For the ninth year, AppDynamics is named a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring. It’s not an honor we take for granted, especially in light of the critical role applications have played since the pandemic hit.

The unprecedented complexities of the last year required enterprises to digitally transform their business strategies overnight in order to remain relevant and competitive, and we’re grateful to be a partner in that process for so many companies. In fact, our customers — the world’s most innovative enterprises — trust that the AppDynamics Business Observability platform will enable them to innovate faster and deliver the biggest impact for their business, no matter what levels of demand and complexity may arise.

We’re humbled by the trust our customers have in us, which is why we continue to ramp up our product innovation around full-stack observability. We’re focused on providing companies with deep insights across the technology stack and business context in order to scale and prioritize what matters most. And we have listened to feedback on where we should continue to invest to make our customers even more successful. These include:

Doubling Down on Business Analytics: Real-time data — including application performance metrics — allows enterprises to see how their digital experience impacts customer behavior, revenue, and topline business goals. That’s why we continue to take our Business IQ product to the next level, launching Experience Journey Maps, which uses machine learning (ML) across journey maps to understand application performance patterns and user behavior.

Regional Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Expansion: In the face of today’s demanding digital landscape, cloud services play a critical role in business resilience and growth, allowing companies to cut down on operating costs and rapidly respond to new changes in the market. AppDynamics is committed to delivering full observability into the entire application environment with expansion in emerging markets including India, Brazil and also in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Strong Portfolio to Drive Full-Stack Observability: Together with Cisco, we’re positioned to deliver full-stack observability with a business lens, helping enterprises act with confidence on what matters most to the business through our broad portfolio of infrastructure and software products. This includes Internet and SaaS monitoring through the ThousandEyes integration and updated workload analysis and optimization through updated integration with Cisco Intersight Workload Optimizer (IWO).

To say that this last year has been incredibly challenging would be an understatement, and that’s what makes this year’s recognition from Gartner so special. Organizations around the world have had to step up and drive innovation at such a rapid pace, including our own.

So again, thank you for helping us become a Leader for the ninth time in the 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring. We couldn’t have done it without you.
