2020 was a roller coaster of a year both inside and outside the tech world. With so many businesses suddenly accelerating their digital transformation plans, the IT landscape has dramatically changed in just a few short months.
In order to support this new push, Cisco acquired ThousandEyes, a network visibility platform, and added quite a few new partner integrations to the Integration Partner Program (IPP) that we will detail later in this blog post.
For those unfamiliar with the IPP, it was launched in 2019 to solve critical business challenges and offer deeper integration for mutual customers. We expanded our partner roster last year, and we’re continuing to add new partners throughout the upcoming year.
This program was created to fill gaps in our capabilities by creating a broader ecosystem of software partners to solve recurring challenges. While AppDynamics addresses key visibility problems for enterprises, the integrations offered by the IPP solve some of the wider challenges businesses face when attempting a digital transformation.
We’re excited about the new partner integrations in the program and can’t wait to see what comes next. We’ve updated our e-book to include new partners and categories and — for those interested in joining the program — a deep dive into how the program works, who our partners are, and the future of the IPP.
With that, we’re excited to introduce the newest additions to our growing ecosystem of partner integrations.
Newly published partner integrations
The Bayestree Sainapse integration helps IT teams improve incident resolution time by consuming a wide variety of data, including AppDynamics alerts, to provide deeper insights into the environment. Tickets can be opened, knowledge bases referenced, and actions automated through this integration.
Contentsquare is an industry-leading provider of digital experience analytics helping companies better understand the customer experience. Contentsquare integrates into AppDynamics Browser Real User Monitoring (BRUM) and complements the performance and error events with the ability to look at a user’s experience through session replay. Contentsquare embedded session replay links into AppDynamics BRUM sessions to aid in the rapid identification and remediation of issues.
Delphix, one of our Transform 2021 sponsors, is a member of our Continuous Delivery category. Their DataOps platform offers enterprise-wide data coverage to support data compliance and enable modern CI/CD workflows. They accelerate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) via the creation of RCA environments for deep dive troubleshooting.
Glassbox analyzes every customer interaction and provides businesses with real-time insights into how customers are interacting with their website and applications. With the integration, they can provide their session replay links within AppDynamics BRUM screens. Glassbox adds transparency and clarity to every aspect of an operation’s online presence, just like the name implies.
Interlink Software ingests metrics and infrastructure topology from AppDynamics to understand the business-critical applications. They then aggregate and correlate this data with other data sources to deliver a clear, dashboard view of service health from multiple perspectives.
Nobl9 is a site reliability engineering (SRE) platform that integrates with AppDynamics to collect specific service level indicator (SLI) metrics and measures them against business-justified service level objective (SLO) targets — allowing customers to make the right trade-offs to consistently meet reliability goals. The joint solution measures SLI metrics from AppDynamics against SLO targets to ensure consistent reporting against objectives.
NS1’s Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and IP Address Management (IPAM) solutions help customers build modern foundational infrastructures to power exceptional application experiences. NS1’s platform is built on a modern application programming interface (API)-first architecture that acts on real-time data from AppDynamics and others transforming DNS, DHCP and IPAM into intelligent, efficient and automated services.
Opsani autonomously tunes application infrastructure in real time by consuming AppDynamics APM business transaction metrics. The solution mitigates business risk associated with poor end-user experience, application performance and cost overruns autonomously by continuing to look at how to best optimize the infrastructure running the application.
Quantum Metric uses performance metrics and session replay to connect real-time customer impact to every phase of the product life cycle. They call it Continuous Product Design, and with it, customers can analyze data to innovate, transform and deliver products customers want. Using AppDynamics BRUM, Quantum Metric can expose their session replay link so customers can easily jump into their product to look at the customer experience for a session.
Sleuth is a mission control platform for teams using Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines. It provides centralized visibility into software delivery progress and performance through automation that empowers developers to make deployments easier. Sleuth’s AppDynamics integration uses key metrics from AppDynamics as impact data to automate deployment verifications in the pipeline. Impact data can be any metric being tracked in AppDynamics that is a key indicator of a customer’s services health.
Zebrium analyzes logs unsupervised and automatically finds the root cause. By using artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) along with a natural language model (OpenAI’s GPT-3), the log lines are processed and returned as a simple, plain language sentence that summarizes the problem. The integration with AppDynamics uses alerts to trigger a log analysis in Zebrium. Zebrium then sends a custom event to AppDynamics with a link back to Zebrium to view the log lines containing the root cause.
ZigiWave’s platform — ZigiOps — is an integration platform that supports multiple IT service management (ITSM), IT operations management (ITOM), cloud and DevOps systems. Examples include ServiceNow, Cherwell, BMC (Remedy and Helix), Micro Focus Operations Bridge, Atlasian Jira and more. ZigiOps collects AppDynamics events, health rule violations, metrics and issues and reports them to a customer’s ITSM system as Incidents.
New IPP key solution domains
Many businesses underwent massive changes in order to facilitate digital transformation. With the customer experience being so critical in 2020, it’s crucial that enterprises not only understand but cut through the complexity of modern IT infrastructure.
With the digital experience becoming such a critical part of modern business, we saw a gap in the IPP that needed to be filled. This led to the creation of the User Experience category and the addition of three new partners: Quantum Metric, Contentsquare and Glassbox.
We also reworked our existing categories to provide a clearer picture of the problems they solve, and we plan to continue expanding categories in the future as more partners are added.
By leveraging AppDynamics with our Continuous Delivery partners, teams can gain deeper visibility into the full-stack performance of cloud, mobile and corporate applications with clear insights into critical IT processes like testing, release management, change management and DevOps performance.
Workload Optimization partners enhance our ability to scale and tune resources across the IT stack. By moving and scaling workloads and services, our mutual customers can optimize for cost and performance through automation tools and intelligent insights.
With our User Experience partners, we can provide a flawless digital experience to customers around the world. Since the digital storefront has become such a critical part of modern business, these partners are critical for many of our customers in monitoring the experiences of their customers.
Event & Log Correlation
AppDynamics provides contextual insight into application topology, which allows our Event & Log Correlation partners to establish event relationships through logs, alerts and data from multiple sources throughout their IT stack to improve RCA.
Service Level & Incident Management
Our Service Level & Incident Management partners take the metrics AppDynamics provides to add context to alerts, correlate them with prior incidents, and provide a single-click solution to identify the root cause and improve triage efforts.
Looking to the future
With our increased focus on business observability, we’re going to continue expanding our partner ecosystem to address the evolving application complexity in the enterprise. We’re excited to continue expanding the program, and we’ll be back soon with another update on what’s next for the IPP.
