AppDynamics Accelerates AWS App Migration for Enterprise Customers with 300% Growth of Cloud-native Architecture Adoption

August 06 2019

Our growth on Amazon AWS, additional AWS Competency achievements and new Cloud Monitoring Pack fuel customer growth and success and solidify our position as the industry’s #1 APM vendor

We have seen tremendous demand for our cloud expertise and end-to-end application performance monitoring solution for AWS that uniquely provides holistic visibility into the entire application architecture. In addition to driving sales in new regions across Europe and Asia, our AWS Marketplace business achieved over 300 percent growth with eight times more transactions this year over last year. Additionally, we’re on track to double AWS Marketplace growth in 2019. These metrics solidify our position as the number one APM vendor and confirm our leadership in cloud migration and monitoring.

AppDynamics is dedicated to helping companies achieve their technology goals by leveraging the agility, breadth of services, and pace of innovation that AWS provides.

FICO, the credit scoring services provider, relied on AppDynamics to ensure a seamless and flawless customer experience before, during, and after their move to AWS.

“FICO needed a comprehensive monitoring and management solution for mission-critical applications as part of their journey to the cloud and AWS,” said Claus Moldt, CIO, FICO. “AppDynamics’ ability to baseline and monitor performance before, during, and after customer deployments and migrations ensured flawless performance by identifying issues in a fraction of the time it would have taken without its use. Choosing AppDynamics is saving money and freeing up resources for innovating instead of troubleshooting.”

Nasdaq uses AppDynamics to see and understand application health on-premises and in the cloud. AppDynamics’ ability to trace a transaction visually and diagnose issues is important to Nasdaq and that visibility was especially valuable when the organization was migrating to Amazon.

“[AppDynamics] offers seamless traceability and a view that bridge both the APM and the Business product usage effectively,” said Heather Abbott, Senior Vice President of Corporate Solutions Technology for Nasdaq. “We used AppDynamics extensively to understand how the platform was functioning on Amazon. Measuring its performance and understanding how the system was behaving on a completely new infrastructure platform.”

We have also added two new AWS Competencies to our existing AWS Mobile Competency, differentiating us as an AWS Partner Network (APN) member that delivers specialized technical proficiency and proven customer success in Monitoring and Performance.

Our two newest AWS Competencies include:

  • AWS Migration Competency, recognizing that AppDynamics provides solutions and expertise to help businesses move successfully to AWS, through all phases of complex AWS migration projects, including discovery, planning, migration and operations.
  • AWS DevOps Competency, recognizing that AppDynamics delivers solutions and deep expertise to help businesses implement continuous integration and continuous delivery practices and automate infrastructure provisioning and management with configuration management tools on AWS.

We continue to see organizations moving to the cloud for scale and agility but gaining a clear view of performance in cloud environments can be a challenge. To manage, monitor, and optimize the complex and ever-changing application and infrastructure environment, businesses need a comprehensive, full-stack monitoring solution for visibility into all of their cloud-based resources.

Mitchell International, a leading insurance claim processor, uses AppDynamics as a key part of their cloud migration strategy. “AppDynamics is a crucial part of our efforts to refactor our legacy applications by leveraging a microservices architecture, including containers and new CI/CD pipelines,” said Marius Dornean, Director, R&D, Casualty Solutions Group at Mitchell International. “We need to monitor how our applications and all associated dependencies are performing in a much more agile environment. By leveraging AppDynamics, we are able to do that and reduce risks associated with refactoring applications as we evaluate migrating to the cloud.”

It is easy to troubleshoot and optimize cloud-based applications with AppDynamics. Businesses looking to migrate or optimize existing cloud deployments should email cloudsales@appdynamics.com to learn more about our Cloud Monitoring Pack, a bundle of AppDynamics application agents, professional services and training designed to help businesses get up and running quickly when monitoring an application in the cloud.

We’re also very delighted to announce that AppDynamics Serverless APM, which supports instrumenting AWS Lambda applications and microservices in Java, is now available to our SaaS customers through the AWS Marketplace. You can sign up today and experience the power of experience the power of serverless monitoring through your AWS Lambda microservices.

We’re excited about our growth and AWS momentum, and the work we’re doing with our customers to enable them to leverage the scalability and agility of the cloud. Stay tuned for more updates on our cloud momentum.
