AppDynamics Named a “LEADER” in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring for Third Consecutive Year

Positioned furthest to the right on ‘completeness of vision’ axis

SAN FRANCISCO – Oct. 30, 2014 –AppDynamics, the application intelligence leader for software-defined businesses, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner as a “Leader” in the 2014 “Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring” report for the third consecutive year. In addition to being placed in the “Leaders” quadrant, the company was positioned furthest to the right on the ‘completeness of vision’ axis in the Magic Quadrant.

Evaluation criteria for ‘completeness of vision’ included market understanding, marketing strategy, sales strategy, product strategy, business model, vertical and industry strategy, innovation, and geographic strategy. Criteria for ‘ability to execute’ included product, overall viability, sales execution and pricing, market responsiveness and record, marketing execution, customer experience, and operations.

Jonah Kowall, research vice president at Gartner, in his report Monitoring Must Evolve to Meet Tomorrow’s Demands, writes, “Today's monitoring tools were built to handle yesterday's IT infrastructures. Today's environments require monitoring with architectures that can capture and analyze big data. IT operations professionals should implement tools that facilitate today's scale and tomorrow's analytical use cases.”
