AppDynamics to Speak at Open IoT Summit 2016: “Going Beyond the Device Heartbeat”

Press Release

Session focuses on holistic view of healthy and well-performing IoT solutions

SAN FRANCISCO – April 1, 2016 – AppDynamics, a leading application intelligence company helping power enterprise digital transformation, today announced that Principal Software Engineer, Balwinder Kaur, will speak on “Going Beyond the Device Heartbeat” at The Linux Foundation’s Open IoT Summit 2016 on Monday, April 4 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, California.

“As millions of embedded devices get connected to the cloud, it’s crucial for the teams monitoring the performance of their production systems to get insight into the edge device’s health, and proactively fix problems before it hits the front page of The New York Times,” said Kaur. “As connected devices move into traditional businesses like the financial services, retail, and automotive sectors, legacy device management and diagnostics often clash with backend enterprise performance management systems.”

Details of Balwinder’s presentation are as follows:

Who:  Balwinder Kaur is a principal software engineer supporting AppDynamics’ Emerging Technologies efforts. She has been working with sensor applications since 2008. Most recently, she delivered a cloud-ready 1080p video streaming development kit for the IoT market. Prior to AppDynamics, she worked extensively with image sensors (cameras) and other applications on Android. Balwinder graduated with an MS in computer technology from the Indian Institute of Technology. Balwinder has been a repeat speaker at Android Builder’s Summit, AnDevCon, Samsung Developer’s Conference and Bay Area meetups.

What:  Join AppDynamics’ Principal Software Engineer, Balwinder Kaur, for a discussion on how to bridge device performance metrics with backend performance analysis to provide a unified view of a connected world.

When:  Monday, April 4, 2016 at 11:40 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.(PT)

Where: Manchester Grand Hyatt, 1 Market Place, San Diego, CA 92101
