To monitor your application with AppDynamics, you need:
  1. An AppDynamics Controller, enabled for mobile.
If you don't have one, getting a SaaS Controller is easy. Just sign up for an account and start a trial. It's free - no credit card required.
  2. Access to your mobile application's source code
  3. Xcode 7
Once you sign up, you'll receive a welcome email with instructions on how to log on to your Controller. From there, the Getting Started Wizard under Home screen will guide you through the remaining steps.
Once your AppDynamics Controller is ready, navigate to Getting Started under Home Screen and start the wizard. Name your app and you can choose whether or not to link it to an existing app monitored by AppDynamics.
The Getting Started wizard gives you access to the iOS Agent, set up for your account.

Add the Agent to your Frameworks (or have CocoaPods do it for you), check for necessary libraries, and set up Xcode to generate dSYM files for AppDynamics so your crash reports are human-readable. The wizard shows you all the places that may need tweaking.

The wizard will tell you once your app has registered, so you can click through to see your results in the Controller UI.

  3. Xcode 7
Once you sign up, you'll receive a welcome email with instructions on how to log on to your Controller. From there, the Getting Started Wizard under Home screen will guide you through the remaining steps.
