Gogo, Leading Provider Of In-Flight Internet, Chooses AppDynamics To Enhance Operations And Application Performance

Superior customer support and end-to-end application visibility cited as key differentiators of the AppDynamics solution

SAN FRANCISCO – JANUARY 5, 2016  AppDynamics, a leading application intelligence company, today announced that Gogo, Inc., theleading provider of in-flight connectivity solutions, has chosen the  AppDynamics Application Intelligence Platform  to help ensure responsive application performance across its Java-based business applications and servers.

Gogo is a leading global aero-communications service provider that offers in-flight Internet, entertainment, text messaging, voice, connected aircraft services and a host of other communications-related services to the commercial and business aviation markets. Gogo has partnerships with 11 major commercial airlines and is now installed on nearly 2,400 commercial aircrafts. More than 6,800 business aircrafts are also flying with its solutions, including the world's largest fractional ownership fleets.

Gogo began looking at application performance management companies to find a provider that could help ensure operational readiness for its complex and rapidly growing business applications. After evaluating solutions from leading APM vendors, Gogo selected theAppDynamics Application Intelligence Platform.

“The AppDynamics Application Intelligence Platform has quickly provided Gogo with incredible visibility into transaction processing, and it fits well within our overall toolset,” said Mike Rupert, vice president of network operations at Gogo, Inc. “The end-to-end application flow can be seen in greater detail, spanning various servers and systems, and allows us to instantly drill down to pinpoint performance issues. Equally important, AppDynamics demonstrated outstanding support, from implementation to delivery of high value use cases, which are already paying off. AppDynamics illustrated that they are a true enterprise partner.”

During two months of using the AppDynamics Application Intelligence Platform, Gogo was able to identify and resolve application incidents quickly in the proof-of-value phase, as well as in continued use. “It is very rare for our applications to go down, and we do maintain redundant environments, but now we have better insight when issues do occur,” said Rupert. “Today, the company is proactively tuning performance across multiple production applications to make application failures a thing of the past.”

AppDynamics’ Founder and Chairman Jyoti Bansal said, “I’ve used Gogo in-flight connectivity many times, and I’m thrilled Gogo recognizes the value the AppDynamics Application Intelligence Platform delivers to help keep its growing business performing and customers happy.”
