Scalatra is an open-source web application "micro framework" written in the Scala programming language.
Designed to run on JVMs (Java Virtual Machines), Scalatra enables developers to quickly build high-performance, scalable, asynchronous, real-time web apps and APIs with minimal coding.
Scalatra can be extended into a full-featured MVC (Model-View-Controller) web app framework by attaching additional libraries for tasks like templating, object-relational mapping, and unit testing. In its relatively short lifetime, Scalatra has been leveraged to build APIs and other web apps for such companies as LinkedIn, Box.com, the BBC, and Netflix, among others.
Scalatra users have access to community support via multiple channels, including Twitter, GitHub, the Freenode IRC Network (#scalatra), and Google+
