SAN FRANCISCO – May 22, 2014 – AppDynamics, the application intelligence leader for the software-defined business, is officially open for business in Tokyo, Japan. The Japanese launch comes on the heels of the company’s announcement of its Australian operations last month and underscores AppDynamics’ international revenue growth. During the three month period ending April 30th, AppDynamics’ Asia-Pacific operations (including Japan) experienced sequential bookings growth in excess of 50 percent compared to the prior three month period. The growth in Asia Pacific follows the company’s record-breaking 175 percent year-over-year increase in bookings during its latest fiscal year ending Jan 31.

Hiroshi Nakagawa, regional director, will lead the Japanese arm of the company and steer the strategic direction of the company in Japan, drive sales in the region and engage with local AppDynamics partners. A seasoned veteran of the IT industry in Japan, Nakagawa is a market expert and will spearhead relationships with key players in the APAC market for AppDynamics.

AppDynamics empowers today’s businesses with smart, adaptive solutions to analyze and optimize digital business performance in real-time and in production. The company’s Application Intelligence Platform provides the ability to proactively manage the most complex software environments through real-time monitoring and insights, and the ability to automate the resolution of problems. Modern applications require a robust performance management solution to dynamically discover, map and monitor the environment to spot and correct potential glitches before they arise. Ensuring high quality application software releases are paramount for ensuring optimal end user experience.

“Increasingly, global businesses are defined by software with high-volume, mission-critical or revenue-critical applications deployed in dynamic environments that include cloud and traditional data center architectures,” said Joe Sexton, president of worldwide field operations at AppDynamics. “These applications require a robust performance management solution to dynamically discover, map and monitor the environment to spot and correct potential glitches before they arise.”

“We already have a number of strategic partners and important customers in the Asia-Pacific region. We plan to build on this momentum, and help more companies in the region optimize performance and customer experience via AppDynamics robust application intelligence,” added Sexton.

In Japan, AppDynamics will continue to support existing customers through reseller partners. Current partners in the region include NS Solutions, Virtual Communications and Edgsquare. The company is currently in negotiations with multiple additional key partners in Asia. AppDynamics currently has 50 customers in Japan, including 15 new customers acquired last quarter.

AppDynamics provides real-time access to every aspect of application performance so businesses see the impact of performance issues in real-time, enabling them to anticipate problems and resolve them quickly, thereby reducing the cost of performance incidents to the business. As a result, application support teams can tie the performance of the application to the performance of the business itself.

Founded in 2008, AppDynamics has over 400 employees based in the US, UK, Australia and now Japan. AppDynamics’ founder Jyoti Bansal is the lead inventor on 14 US patent applications in the field of distributed applications management. AppDynamics is positioned as a “Leader” in Gartner’s latest Magic Quadrant for APM and recently announced 175 percent year-over-year increase in bookings for its fiscal year 2014 (Feb. 2013 to Jan. 2014) and an annualized bookings run-rate of more than $100 million in its fiscal fourth quarter.
