AppDynamics takes on the Application Performance Management market in Australia

Press Release

April 22, 2014 – AppDynamics, the application intelligence leader for the software-defined business, today announced its expansion into Australia with the opening of its first office in Melbourne. Following a 12-month period in which the company achieved 175 percent year-over-year sales growth, AppDynamics plans to build its presence in the ANZ region.

Headquartered in San Francisco, California, AppDynamics empowers today’s businesses with smart, adaptive tools to analyse and optimise digital business performance in real-time and in production. The company’s Application Intelligence Platform provides the ability to proactively manage the most complex software environments through real-time monitoring and insights, and the ability to automate the resolution of problems.

The Australian arm of the company will be headed up by sales director for the ANZ region, Andrew Brockfield. With over 18 years experience in software technology sales; Brockfield will be responsible for steering the strategic direction, driving sales and engaging with partners for AppDynamics locally.

Joe Sexton, President of Worldwide Operations at AppDynamics, says that Australian businesses, both large and small, are becoming defined by software to the point that they now have to innovate and compete on their software.

“Most businesses today are software-defined businesses that have high-volume mission-critical or revenue-critical applications deployed in dynamic environments, including cloud and traditional data centre architectures. These applications require a performance management solution that can dynamically discover, map and monitor the environment, catching issues before they develop,” Sexton said.

“A growing number of Australian organisations have already successfully deployed AppDynamics for business-critical applications, and we plan to help more companies in the region improve both their revenue and customer experience using our application intelligence,” added Sexton.

AppDynamics provides real-time access to every aspect of application performance so businesses see the impact of performance issues in real-time, enabling them to anticipate problems and resolve them quickly, thereby reducing the cost of performance incidents to the business. As a result, application support teams can tie the performance of the application to the performance of the business itself.

Founded in 2008, AppDynamics employs more than 400 professional staff across its offices in USA, UK and now Australia. AppDynamics’ founder Jyoti Bansal is the lead inventor on 14 US patent applications in the field of distributed applications management. AppDynamics is positioned as a “Leader” in Gartner’s latest Magic Quadrant for APM and recently announced 175 percent year-over-year increase in bookings for its fiscal year 2014 (Feb. 2013 to Jan. 2014) and an annualised bookings run-rate of more than $100 million in its fiscal fourth quarter.

In Australia, AppDynamics will continue to support existing customers through its reseller partner Ecetera. For more information, please visit www.appdynamics.com
