McKesson Specialty Health Selects AppDynamics to Help Improve Customer Experience and Accelerate Oncology Services Delivery

McKesson Specialty Health uses AppDynamics Application Intelligence Platform to monitor and optimize performance of its Java-based iKnowMedSM EHR and Lynx Mobile® applications and associate reporting modules. “High availability and responsive transaction performance are critical for these applications,” said Chock. “These SaaS-based applications are not just mission-critical from the app’s perspective—they’re critical for delivering essential services to cancer patients.” McKesson Specialty Health’s iKnowMed was named the number one Electronic Health Record (EHR) system for oncologists and hematologists by Black Book Rankings and one of the company’s fast-growing products.

AppDynamics also produced a nice side effect for McKesson Specialty Health. “The AppDynamics user interface is extremely easy to use. This has resulted in broad-based adoption across McKesson Specialty Health groups by new user communities—without training or previous product knowledge. Today, our DevOps team uses AppDynamics to test applications during development, allowing us to proactively avoid many issues. If an issue does arise in our production environment, we simply drill down to the problem and fix it,” said Chock.
