AppDynamics Achieves AWS Outposts-Ready Designation

September 16 2020

AppDynamics has received a new AWS Service Ready Program designation for Outposts. Learn what that means for your business.

Hybrid cloud infrastructure brings many benefits to businesses that want the best of both worlds from public and private clouds. For example, when you combine private cloud security with the power and versatility of a public cloud, you get complete control over your data while gaining the ability to quickly and cost-effectively scale operational capacity. In fact, according to the Flexera 2020 State of the Cloud Report, 93 percent of enterprises currently have a multi-cloud strategy; 87 percent have a hybrid-cloud strategy. But many companies are forced to use different tools and APIs based on cloud vendors and on-prem infrastructure stacks to automate and optimize their application workloads.

Enter AWS Outposts, which delivers a consistent hybrid experience by offering the same hardware infrastructure, services, APIs, management, and operations on-premises as in the cloud. And, unlike other hybrid solutions that require the use of different APIs, manual software updates, and the purchase of third-party hardware and support, AWS Outposts provides a consistent developer and IT operations experience across on-premises and cloud environments.

For all of the advantages of a hybrid cloud, it also results in even more complexity in what is already a complicated and dynamic application landscape. Adding to this complexity are the stacks of layered dependencies these applications create across hybrid environments. If you don’t have the right visibility to monitor and optimize your hybrid environment’s applications, you can end up in a compromised situation. This happens when customers lose their visibility of applications running across hybrid deployment. the end to Thus the old adage, “you can’t monitor and control what you can’t measure.”

To support the seamless integration and deployment of AWS Outposts Ready solutions, AWS established the AWS Outposts Ready Program to help customers identify products integrated with AWS Outposts so they can spend less time evaluating new tools and more time scaling their use of products that are integrated with AWS Outpost deployments.

Today, we are excited to announce that AppDynamics has achieved the AWS Outposts Ready designation, part of the AWS Service Ready Program. This designation recognizes that Cisco’s AppDynamics has demonstrated successful integration with AWS Outposts deployments.

“Many companies are modernizing their application performance monitoring systems by leveraging SaaS-based solutions. We are delighted to welcome AppDynamics to the AWS Outposts Ready Program. AppDynamics full-stack performance monitoring for AWS helps customers monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance for workloads operating on AWS Outposts, in AWS Regions, and on customer-owned hardware for a truly consistent hybrid experience.”

Joshua Burgin, General Manager, AWS Outposts, Amazon Web Services, Inc.

AppDynamics provides the same level of enterprise-class observability across the entire application stack to monitor AWS workloads running in AWS public cloud and AWS Outposts. Our agents process billions of transactions across AWS hybrid clouds, utilizing our AI-powered cognition engine to give you real-time visibility of your application topology, dependencies, and business processes as they are automatically discovered and mapped.

AppDynamics gives you deep insights to ensure your infrastructure across AWS hybrid clouds fully supports your application performance. With the server instance, database, and network performance visibility when running legacy workloads in Amazon EC2 or modern workloads inside Amazon EKS.

AppDynamics delivers a single platform with consistent support and functionality across your AWS hybrid cloud ecosystem to minimize the risk and complexity of multiple siloed tools while providing a seamless experience across development and operations teams to reduce MTTR and maximize innovation.

Achieving the AWS Outposts Ready designation differentiates AppDynamics as an AWS Partner Network (APN) member with a product thoroughly tested on AWS Outposts. AWS Outposts Ready products are generally available and supported for AWS customers, with clear deployment documentation.

Our product integration with AWS Outposts is available in the AWS Marketplace. AWS Service Ready Partners has demonstrated success in building products integrated with AWS services, helping AWS customers evaluate and use their technology productively, at scale, and with varying complexity levels.
