5-Stars and 100% Partner-led: the AppDynamics Channel

The AppDynamics Partner Program is honored to receive a 5-Star rating from CRN in their 2022 Partner Program Guide. This rating reflects AppDynamics’ commitment to the new 100% channel-centric sales motion.


I’m excited to share that AppDynamics received CRN’s 5-Star rating in their annual Partner Program Guide. The 5-Star rating is awarded to an exclusive group of companies whose partner and channel programs are leading the way in enabling both opportunity and value to their partners.

More specifically, CRN’s 5-Star rating is further validation that with our partner program, we’re making the right investments to enable our partners to win big, especially with full-stack observability. Our partner program gives both AppDynamics and Cisco partners tremendous confidence that we’re on this full-stack observability journey together — with partners central to how we serve our customers.

Our shift to a 100% channel model

AppDynamics has transitioned from a mixed “direct and indirect” sales model to a 100% channel-centric sales motion. This aligns with Cisco’s partner-first sales methodology. In fact, Cisco was also awarded a CRN five-star rating. Both AppDynamics and Cisco know our partners are the key to capturing business in the emerging full-stack observability market. A market estimated at tens of billions of dollars of global opportunity.

And the full-stack observability opportunity is real. According to our new report, The Journey to Observability, 91% of global technologists surveyed said their organizations now have defined full-stack observability strategies in place, and 90% state full-stack observability is a priority for their organizations in 2022. Focus on partner profitability

AppDynamics has ensured that profitability, enablement and the key parts of a successful channel program are in place to fully support our partners. We’ve added stackable margins that increase depending on the partner value-add provided to the customer.

Beyond this, we redesigned how we support partners in our channel organization. We’ve added considerable resourcing to our channel sales engineering group to better support our partners from a technical aspect. We continue to fine-tune, grow and evolve the AppDynamics Partner Program as we embrace and announce new initiatives designed to accelerate partner success.

Our program has a singular focus on helping our partners put in place their own best-in-class full-stack observability practices while also ensuring they have access to resources and tools to successfully go to market.
